Thank you dear reader, for being with us on this Super Powers journey. We are thrilled to reach our 100th weekly post where we provide small steps to improve your life in 12 areas and ultimately help you find beauty and joy in your life.
We set out to create a community of people who were interested in empowering themselves and others. So, we find it fitting that our monthly focus is on community when we hit this milestone.
It was also fortuitous that this week we received an email from the Mission: JOY team announcing their 10-week course on How to Live Joyfully Even in Challenging Times. For the backstory, The Joy Film documents the friendship of the Dalai Lama and the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu. The crew set out to capture the dialog of these two friends, and it beautifully evolved into The Book of Joy and the Mission: JOY movie, and now this course. The joy keeps on growing as they build a JOY community.
That is what we hope happens with this Super Powers newsletter - that you find the joy in your life by making small changes, and that it keeps on growing.
When we plan our weekly story for the newsletter, we brainstorm ideas and research topics and pray. Invariably, the newsletter takes on a life of its own. What we start out intending to write, and what we end up writing are often very different but still on topic and rewarding.
As we hit 100 posts, it is helpful to reflect on where we have been with Super Powers and use it to refine where we are going in the future. After reviewing the analytics on all 100 posts, some themes stood out. Our highest readership was in four areas - family, friendship, intellectual life and spiritual life. These are the core pillars of community, so it was logical.
Let us know what your experience has been with the Super Powers newsletters. Have you implemented any ideas, seen changes, reflected on your beliefs or turned inward? We would love to hear your thoughts.
In addition, we encourage you to double down on community. We are entering the holiday season. This time can be one of great joy, but also one of great stress or loneliness. Perhaps we can find a way to sit in the joy a little longer and let it envelope us, find ways to ease our stress (see pranayama breathing) and eliminate someone’s loneliness.
At the same time, Super Powers is about focusing on yourself. You need to fill yourself first if you hope to have any chance to help others. Find what you need in community through reflection and refinement, and fill yourself first. Then, consider the needs of others.
Again, thank you for being one of our readers and being part of the Super Powers community. We hope it makes a difference in your life. We appreciate the time you take to read our message and wish you great beauty and joy.

See the full year’s schedule.
Our goal with the Super Powers newsletter is to guide you with small, easy steps to improve many areas of your life. Over time these small changes add up to significant growth and improvement. You will be amazed at how far you have come when you look back at all your progress.
Do you need a positive boost each day?

Here’s one:
If you fail, never give up because F.A.I.L. means “first attempt in learning.” End is not the end, in fact E.N.D. means “effort never dies.” If you get No as an answer, remember N.O. means “next opportunity.”
It’s time to start building your Super Powers!
